Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at one of the many waterfalls near where I live. I love the look of long exposures on water and am always looking for a new composition

Time

The photo was taken around mid day, however it’s tucked into a canyon and light has very little effect on it.

Lighting

The light here is not an issue for a long exposure as I can adjust to the correct exposure.

Equipment

I used a Nikon D800E and Nikkor 24-70 f2.8, on a tripod with no flash

Inspiration

I love the clean look of the ice and the water and knew I had to get the shot.

Editing

I typically use Lightroom for all of my editing. I’m a bit of a purist and try to get all of my images in the camera.

In my camera bag

Now I have a D850 and D800, I have the 14-24, 24-70, 70-200, 300 f2.8, and the 105 f2.8, 85 f1.4 and a 500pf. It’s a lot of gear but I like to get different perspectives with the lens variations.

Feedback

Patience is key. Fin your composition and work to make it happen. Always keep your glass clean!
