Behind The Lens
Location
This photo was taken at the Redwood Forest in the Otways National Park in Victoria. I was on holiday with my sister in the area and we were told that we must stop here as it is amazing. Well it was. It was only about 5 minutes via car from where we were so we drove there and it was amazing, like nowhere I’ve been before.Time
This photo was taken in the very late afternoon at around 5:30pm in February - daylight savings time.Lighting
The light was filtered when coming through the trees. It was providing light streams through the trees.Equipment
This was shot on a Canon EOS 5D Mark IV, with the 24-105mm lens in manual mode, no flash or tripod used.Inspiration
I was amazed at how the trees looked with the sun coming through and when I looked straight up, I saw a cool photo opportunity.Editing
No, I didn’t do any editing to this photo. In my camera bag
I take the 24-105mm lens and the 70-300mm for distance shots. A UV filter and a circular polariser are always with my camera, plus a hand-held shutter controller (especially if I’m using the tripod) to minimise the blurs.Feedback
The photo could be better or worse as it depends on so much like weather, time of day & height of the sun. I generally think of it looks good in my eye as I imagine it as a photo, go for it.
