I took this photo at a train station in Geldermalsen, the Netherlands. It was a cold, stormy and wet Sunday. I had an idea in my head and this rather nostalgic train station was a very suitable place.Time
It was around noon, I waited all morning for the storm to calm down, but the forecast was that it would only get worse, so I took my dogs (and my scarf) and drove the the train station.Lighting
There was no sunlight and it was very overcast so I had to use ISO500, which is no problem for my camera.Equipment
I used my Sony A7SII together with my Sony 70-200mm F2.8 G-lens for a nice DOF. I did not use a tripod as I was on the ground on my knees and I had to move fast as there was another train coming in with lots of passengers that I did not want on the picture.Inspiration
I wanted to explore the theme "travelling" with my dogs and thought that the combination of the rain, the wind and the scarf around the dogs would make a great image.Editing
I shoot in RAW and I adjusted the saturation a bit and went a bit back with the shadows for the fur of the dog on the left.In my camera bag
I have a Sony A9, which can take an action series of photo's at a very high speed. As for lenses I mostly use my Sony 70-200mm F2.8 G-lens. I also use a macro lens 90mm F2.8 and for landscapes I use the Sony 18-70mm Zeiss lens. I have a tripod, some Nissin Flashlights and a Lee ND1000 filter, which is really nice when you want to take long exposure photos.Feedback
If you want to catch something similar, wait for stormy weather and train your dogs to behave off the leash :-). The camerasettings: Aperture: F2.8 Exposure: 1/250 sec Focal Length: 1/140mm ISO: 500
