Location
In 2006 I moved to Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Since then I cannot stop taking pictures of this beautiful city. You would think that your eyes will get used to the view and scenery of the city you live in, but it isn't like that. This location is in the hart of Amsterdam, very near to the central train station.Time
Every winter, in the cold months, there is a festival of light. This festival is being held in order to encourage people to go out for a walk in the cold winter. During my walk seeing the art exhibits around the city I take a lot of photos. This one was taken close to midnight in the 19 of January.Lighting
The lights from the buildings and the city light gave this photo the city look it so much deserve. Night photography would always be one of the most interesting subjects as you need to set your camera with the right settings, be patient and keep trying.Equipment
This was shot with Canon 7 D , 24-70mm 2.8L lens. I used tripod, remote control and a lot of passion.Inspiration
As I walked through the city, shooting some of the interesting art during the light festival, I saw this magical moment. The lights in the windows are still on, no wind, the the reflection on the water. The serenity, the quiet & Amsterdam in it's most beauty.Editing
To be honest, not so much. I only needed to remove some noise from the long exposure and adjust the white balance. In my camera bag
My current camera which is Canon 7D, My 2 lenses: 24-70mm 2.8 & 70-200mm 2.8 both are Canon. Remote control, extra batteries, some cleaning stuff in order to clean the lens. Lately I added to my kit a crystal ball & different grades of filters that will allow me to play with my creativity.Feedback
When you do city trip take your best camera and lenses as well. Don't hesitate to stop, look around and catch the moment. It might be difficult thing to do if you in an a very busy environment but you will be very happy with the results that you will get.
