Sharp focus and pleasing composition of the central subjects against the blurred distant departing flock catch and draw the eye! The golden glow set by time of day is a very welcomed bonus! Congrats on a marvelous recording!

I love this time of the year, when the cranes come, September to November. The light can be so soft and warm during this time. The cranes are the birds of happiness and a long life. The "trumpeting" noise, they makes me happy, every year.Editing

Well, it depends very much on what I intend to do. When I go in the summer for a walk I always take my Nikon D4 and a Sigma Apo 120-400mm lens and my AF-S Micro Nikkor 105 mm f/2.8 on My Nikon D800. Whenever possible I take my 600mm lens along. My favorite lens, but a little heavy.Feedback
Patience. It takes lots of patience to find the cranes, to get close enough, when the light is beautiful. Patience, a long lens, good light. That is all that takes.
