Love how easy going this photo is but provokative at the same time 😊

Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in the backyard of a friends house. We had set up multiple shooting locations throughout the house and in the backyard and this one of of the results!

Time

It was late afternoon just before the sun was setting! Perfect golden hour moment.

Lighting

The lighting was completely natural. We got lucky that there was just enough cloud cover so the sun wasn’t too harsh.

Equipment

I used a Canon 6D with a 50mm lens. Easily my go-to set up.

Inspiration

I took this photo because it has that almost effortless “California” vibe to it. The two of them meshed together on this shoot so perfectly.

Editing

No post-processing necessary! Only the essential touch ups when it came to Lightroom.

In my camera bag

Normally just my essentials, my Canon 6D, Canon 5D Mark III, and a few lenses. On some occasions i’ll bring my tripod but i’m mostly shooting on the go.

Feedback

Sometimes specifically posing people feels too forced, keep your models moving to avoid any stiffness when you’re doing portraits
