This photo is taken at Mass Audubon at Broadmoor Wildlife Sanctuary in Natick, Massachusetts. This a beautiful nature trail going through the woods as well as having a boardwalk crossing the pond, where this was taken. We had lots of people stop to stare or smile on their way by :)Time
This photo was taken during a midday engagement session at about 12pm. It was difficult to work around the sun but we all made it work and I got some awesome shots!Lighting
There is nothing too special about the lighting here. It was midday in the bright sun, so we didn’t have much shade to work with. I tried to ensure the darker background since the sun was so bright & it makes the subject (their hands&mugs) stick out more.Equipment
Used here is the Canon 80D along with the Canon 70-200 f/4 telephoto lens!!Inspiration
This couple on their engagement session mentioned that coffee was something they bonded and connected over early on in the relationship. I suggested bringing mugs and coffee (especially since it was a cold November day) resulting in these cute photos!Editing
Just basic edits such as increasing contrast and saturation (slightly), lowering highlights, sharpening it up a bit. All done via Luminar 4!In my camera bag
My current camera is the Canon 80D. I recently bought a 24-70mm lens that has eliminated the need for me to carry around all of my prime lenses within that range. So now I typically have my camera, Tamron 24-70mm f/2.8, and my Canon 70-200mm f/4L. This covers a wide range and can be used for all subjects I like to photograph. I also carry lens filters, extra SD cards, cleaning supplies, plastic weather protector, a Geekoto speedlite, and I usually attach my tripod to my backyard as well. Gotta be prepared :)Feedback
Get to know the couples you are photographing and things they like. This can help bring a more personal touch to photos and add something a little more specials. Go with the flow and pay attention to each moment.
