As one of the last uncontaminated photographic sanctuaries of Europe, it's hard to describe Shetland islands in few words, so as usual I'll do with an image that is a mix of feelings and emotions.

Location
Thi image was taken along the beautiful coast of Shetland Island, in Scotland.Time
It was a sunset of mid-summer. A light breeze from the ocean was moving waves and clouds like a magic carpet.Lighting
The sun was close to the horizon line and so I was able to get some beautiful warm light along the coastline. I always suggest to find a composition with sidelight for this reason: if you're lucky you can get some amazing light that can help on giving a better atmosphere and to create tridimensionality in the shot.Equipment
I was using my Nikon D850 with a Zeiss Distagon T* 18mmm/3,5. In addition, I used a NiSi ND256 filter and a NiSi GND 1.2 (4 stop) Medium. A sturdy tripod was mandatory to extend the shutter speed.Inspiration
I believe the desire to capture not just the beauty of the location, but my feelings while watching this incredible scene.Editing
I used Adobe Lightroom to recover lights and details, and then I acted selectively on the image with Nik Collection by DxOIn my camera bag
I love to travel light, so apart from the previously mentioned gear, I travel with a Zeiss Distagon T* 21mmm/2,8 and a bag full of filters. Some accessories are mandatory, like a remote shutter and spare batteries and memory cards.Feedback
Capturing a long exposure is quite easy, bit it requires a bit of practice. Always try to calculate the correct shutter speed instead of making random tests: the good light will last just few minutes, so you may lose the perfect moment! On my Blog you can find a step by step guide for this :)
