Behind The Lens

Location

Lindsey was a great sport and laid down in the ivy in front of the courthouse.

Time

We got a late start this day. The sun was much higher in the sky than I would typically like. Fortunately, this bed of ivy was in the shadow of the courthouse, and my Speedlight was used to light the scene.

Lighting

I carry an off-camera flash for portraits. This image was created in the shadows of a building and surrounding vegetation. The Flash illuminated the dark scene to make the model pop out.

Equipment

I carry an off-camera flash and a Canon 5D Mark III with a 24-70 2.8F lens.

Inspiration

Senior photos are great fun. I enjoy creating images that are more than the client thought possible allowing them to see themselves in a new light.

Editing

My post-processing on portraits is limited. I remove temp blemishes but seek to have the images be true reflections of the subject.

In my camera bag

I travel light for portraits but do carry back-ups of key equipment. - Two off-camera flashes - Two camera bodies - Two lanes - one collapsible shade

Feedback

Have fun when you are shooting. The fun will reflect in the images you create.
