A recent study shows that hummingbirds build their nests under or near a hawks nest. The reason for this is because blue jays like to eat their eggs and young but will not fly into an area where they can be attacked by a hawk. The hummingbirds are too small so the hawks ignore them. I think hummingbirds are tiny geniuses.
