I took this photo in Cabo Mexico in February of this year -2016 It was at the land's end on the Pacific side of the ArcoTime
I took this photo at sunrise around 7 am. My son and I headed out to capture sunrise. I am unable to climb up over the rock, so I sat down on the beach and set up my tripod. We were hoping for more clouds in the sky, but just a few wisps showed up for us.Lighting
I headed out nice and early to get a great spot near my favorite sunrise place while on vacation. When the sun came up that morning it hit in the right spot.Equipment
Camera -Nikon D810 Lens - Nikon 17-35 2.8 shot at 25mm Tripod Gitzo Carbon Fiber Traveler and ball head.Inspiration
My son and I share a love of photography. When on vacation we are always looking for the perfect sunrise/sunset. On this morning my son headed over the rock to get the sunrise from the other side. I am unable to climb over the rock so I scoped out the area on the beach. We love capturing the waves hitting this rock, and the birds love to perch higher up where the waves don't hit them. This place is so peaceful early in the morning.Editing
I am a big fan of Lightroom. I post-processed this photo in lightroom. It didn't take much to make it pop. Took Highlights all the way down, shadows all the way up. Whites positive/Blacks negative A little Clarity and SaturationIn my camera bag
I try to be prepared for all different shooting. I carry my D810 usually with the Nikon 28-300 f3.4-5.6 attached Nikon 17-35mm F2.8 for wide angle landscapes Rokinon 14mm F2.8 for night photography (milky way, stars) Nikon 80-400mm for those close ups Nikon 70-200mm F2.8 Lee filter set. Both GraduatedND and SolidND , the super big, big and small stopper. (just started learning to use these) Wireless remoteFeedback
Get up early and be ready! The sun rises so quickly and if you're not prepared you're going to miss it. A tripod and remote. I use a wireless remote,
