Location
This portrait was captured in my home studio.Time
It was around mid-day in February.Lighting
The lighting is all natural, it was quite bright outside and I wanted to use the sunlight both as a backlight and key light, but without burning out to much of the subject.Equipment
As always, I used my Nikon D800.Inspiration
The model contacted me to collaborate on some new portrait images for our portfolios, her strong look and pale skin looked perfect in the natural light when she arrived at my studio, so we concentrated on this look and captured some good results.Editing
I do use Ps for post processing, but mostly to just enhance using D&B, I try not to destruct the original image as much as possible. In my camera bag
My Nikon D800, a selection of lenses, CF cards, speed lights, triggers, remotes and spare batteries.Feedback
This is a really simple look to achieve, just don't overthink it and have fun because there are so many different ways to capture a portrait and so much will depend upon the natural light on the day, the mood and look of the model and the location. So please take inspiration by all means, but don't worry too much if you're not achieving this look, it's just practice, practice, practice. Don'r let anyone judge you or your work, we are all creative in our own way, be a photographer, not a camera technician or gadget geek!
