Behind The Lens
Location
I took this photo in Shinjuku, Tokyo in front of some office buildings.Time
As you can see from the window reflection behind the model the time is at almost sunset since the sun is very low and coming down from the sky.Lighting
I used one flash to the camera's right to light the model since the natural light was going down due to the sunset and that was enough to create this moody atmosphere.Equipment
I used my Canon 60D and a flash to shoot this model as well as the Rokinon 8mm fisheye lens to give the interesting perspective to the photo.Inspiration
It was my first time in a few years to shoot a male model, so I wanted to try some rugged lighting and mood to go along with his creativity and willingness to take his shirt off in public.Editing
I usually do very minimal post processing and it's the same with this photo, just trying to enhance the contrast and the colors a bit.In my camera bag
I shoot with the Canon system and usually use my 5Dmk3 camera and various lenses such as the 24-105mm f4 lens or the 8mm fisheye lens.Feedback
In fashion photography, the background is very important with outdoor shots so you have to scout the area ahead of time and find some cool locations to place your model in.
