Location
This picture was taken by chance whilst sheltering from the rain in London. I happened into Heals department store opposite Goodge Street Tube station and was met by this fantastic staircase, I run a construction management and interiors business so i can appreciate the quality and effort it takes to produce an architectural masterpiece like this.Time
This was taken around mid morning on a wet stormy UK dayLighting
The Staircase is now listed and protected and the great thing is they are happy for photographers to come and capture it, you wont be allowed all the way to the top, (yes theres even more of it). The lighting consists of multiple drop pendant lights and its quite dark at the bottom but a fantastic thing to behold.Equipment
D810 camera and 24-70mm f2.8 sense hand held and polarising filterInspiration
I had seen this picture previously in a great book "The Photographer's Guide To London" Book By E.bowness and wanted to see if i could do it justice however on the day i shot it i didn't even know i was there!! I was really looking to get out of the rain and use the toilet, so glad i found it.Editing

Always, always carry your camera and a lens with you, i find i happen across my best shots usually by chance and its frustrating when you cant capture something fantastic or spontaneous. Be courteous when shooting around people and in premises and try and get permission before shooting unless on common land.
