This photo was taken in my brother in law's home in Dublin Ireland on Christmas day.Time
This is a very personal image for me as this is my young baby daughter Maria. The picture was taken around 4pm on Christmas day. I could hear maria saying "no!" to the dog in so i sneaked out and managed to capture her scolding the dog with the arms folded.Lighting
The lighting here was all natural coming in from the large sliding doors to the right. Its was a lovely bright winters day with a cloudy sky making for lovely soft lighting.Equipment
This was shot handheld on a Nikon D750 using a nikon 50mm 1.4 lens.Inspiration
I had my nifty fifty lens on all day to document christmas day. It was our first Christmas away from home and I wanted to capture all the family moments. I hoped to get some really natural candid images that day and this is just one of my favourite images of the holiday. The image was captured and moments later the dog ran off and Maria quickly followed.Editing
Post processing with this image involved some cropping and changing the white balance in Adobe Lightroom. Usually I do a lot more editing using photoshop and lightroom but this image did not require a lot of post processing. I adjusted vibrance, clarity, and saturation whilst using curves to increase the contrast. In my camera bag
I always have my trusty Nikon D750 , my 50mm and my 16-35mm f4 lens. I love the wide angle look and the 16-35mm is on my camera body quite a lot. I also love the look of images taken with my little 50mm lens. Its also super light and you dont stand out like a sore thumb in public.Feedback
This is all about having a camera with you at the right time and place. if your curiosity gets the better of you take a picture because you might just miss a moment you can never get back.
