The rainbow had just shown itself. I was out of the position that I wanted for this composition, and while hustling to the place in which I position my Gitzo, I loaded a roll of 120 color positive, attached a warming, and a polarizing filter to a 135mm lens. Camera used was a Pentax 6x7.

Location
I made this photograph at the train depot outside of Denali National Park in Alaska.Time
The day was cool late afternoon consisting of intermittent rain showers.Lighting
The lighting is immersive, characterized by cool moisture. The light is clean, a wonderful elixir to work in for the light in combination of the moist atmosphere make objects glow.Equipment
I used a pentax 6x7 camera with a 55mm lens. I use a Gitzo carbon fiber tripod with a 3 way head.Inspiration
The train had pulled up into the depot, and the rainbow appeared. From my vantage point the rainbow was too far to the right of the engine. I ran toward the train as I watched the position of the rainbow hoping to position it to enhance the front lights of the engine. As I was positioning myself, I knew the rainbow would be brief in appearance, hence, for an exposure without using the light meter I knew that using an ISO 4oo speed film that the day would produce an acceptable exposure at 4 stops from a sunny day exposure.Editing
Hindsight being 20/20, and the next time I work with this image, I'm going to tweak areas and work with edges. However, for this image I used mostly global sharping .In my camera bag
I use a 4x5 modified Wista and 2 lenses, a 210 and 120 Symmar-S. I use a zone 6 modified pentax spot meter both outdoors, and studio set-ups. I use a 6x7 Pentax when using Rollie Infrared Film with a 720 IR filter, and a cable release. Tripod is a Gitzo carbon filber, and a 3 way head. For the digital world, I have a Nikon D850, and Google's Pixel 3.Feedback
Look. Experience and sense a place - let the scene unfold. As always, a thermos of coffee and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches are a comfort when observing and waiting for the light. Sometimes, the best you can do is to make a photograph, and wait for something else to happen.
