It had been a cloudy day and I wasn't expecting much of a sunset. The sun had nearly set when all of a sudden the sky erupted with this burst of color that reminded me of blackberries. What a way to end the day. Hood Canal, Washington, USA RJP-P-2095

This photo was taken from my home in Washington State. I am a self taught photographer and love the endless journey of photography.Time
I love this image and remember the day well. It had been cloudy and I wasn't expecting much of a display that evening. All of a sudden there was this burst of color towards the end resulting in this magnificent display of beauty. Photo was taken August 6, 2020 around 8:30 PM.Lighting
The lighting was great but the water was dark towards the edges so I lightened the area post processing.Equipment
This was shot with my Canon 5d Mark IV camera 16/35 lens. I may or may not of used a tripod.Inspiration
Since I work from home shooting the sunset is what I do pretty much every evening. I really wasn't expecting much to transpire but went out anyway. I enjoy the slowdown for the days responsibilities. Once the sun came out from the dark cloud the sky erupted with color and I knew I had underestimated it for sure. It was a perfect ending to the day.Editing
I recently did a class and wanted to apply some of my new techniques. This photo is a great performer on the site but I was curious to see if I could make it better. After reworking basic adjustments and settings I applied adjustment brush noise to the photo and lightened the water near the edges. In my camera bag
I shoot from home and seldom use a bag.Feedback
You will need a wide open area to capture a scene like this.
