This image was taken in my Beverwijk, The Netherlands, during one of my covid-19-curfew-eveningwalksTime
The image was shot just before 21:00 in the beginning of April just after sundown. I guess it was still blue hour, at least that was what I was aiming for.Lighting
On previous walks I noticed how the orange lights and red roof contrasted beautifully agains the intense blue sky, so I planned this visit carefully. With a bit of luck from the weather (clear sky) I got what I was looking for.Equipment
My good friend D610 and my enemy mr. tripod. No flash of filters needed in this case.Inspiration
Because I love beautiful buildings and places that breathe times of old. Preferably in combination with a dramatic (stormy) sky. The sky could have been more dramatic here maybe, but than again now the image focusses more on the subject and the red-blue colourcontrast.Editing
Yes. Always (almost) Some sharpening, colour adjustments, local contrast. Hmm. Not so much in this case. O yeah, I added some light into the streetlights. In my camera bag
As described above. My trusted Nikon D610. A set of ND gradient filters. Sometimes I fiddle a tripod with me, but I'm always in a fight with those things, so I prefer to just put my camera on (or against) something solid. I hope to have a nice Z6 (or above) with a lovely wide-angle in my bag soon (wink, wink, I'm available to be an ambassador of your brand ! :-) ...)Feedback
Nah. There is enough info online or in magazines (buy magazines!!!! Keep photographers and other artist to work and the printindustry alive!!!) Especially in this case; check the weather, grab a tripod, take your time, experiment and shoot!
