thank you.Yesterday I showed this photo to the bishop of Corocoro.. he had noticed I was sortof an atypical catholic. Told him that was the moment I realised where I needed to return. He replied something which touched my heart.. he had seen exactly what it was.

Excellent shot!… super composition, the light feels just right… I personally prefer the warmer monochromatic….

Behind The Lens
Location
In the 800 year old Alcobaça monastery, near CoimbraTime
It was wonderful afternoon lightLighting
The light in this cathedral is truly spiritual and inspiring. Watch and take it in.Equipment
A Nikon D2x and a manual 18mm lens. I held my breath..Inspiration
The atmosphere is truly touching, I stood in awe of 800 years of worship and the ornament free serene beauty. I felt very moved when taking this and s few others.Editing
This is the second version which I denoised in 3 gentle stages , first with lightroom's own, then only the shadows and at last everything in Photoshop. Obviously I converted the result into BW , in exposure 5. Last but not least a perspective correction in Photoshop (less than you might think, I held the camera as straight as possible)In my camera bag
A wide angle, like the manual 18mm an all-round 24-70 zoom , my 180mm macro lens which serves also as a tele and a low light lens. It can be a 28, 35 55 or this 85 mm, which is the only autofocus one.. not to forget my trusted D4Feedback
Take you time to wander around the church. Be respectful, say a prayer and admire. Where you feel the presence of God and you think it shows best, take you picture
