Peach-leaved bellflower (Campanula persicifolia)

Oslo, Norway

Of all the bellflowers I find this to be the fairest of them all!

At least here in the Nordic.

Its large bells stand out from all the other flowers in the meadow, and when they are as plentiful as here on the island of Hovedøya (Main island) in Oslo, it is such a wonderful sight as it complements all the other amazing colors of the meadows here. They are tall beacons of this unique color, drawing your attention to them perhaps first, then you’ll see all the hues of the species only reaching the base of these tall inflorescences.

A few have found home in my garden as well, and the do grow in the neighborhood, but very far from so plentiful as on this island floral paradise.

Interestingly it also has a white variety, but I found none during my visit, and the last of the kind I saw a few hundred meters from my home some years ago.
