Behind The Lens

Location

I captured this shot from a bridge on Percy Priest Lake.

Time

It was sunset and I saw how beautiful the sunset was going to be and drove to the bridge to get the best possible view.

Lighting

I wanted to get an unobstucted view of the sunset so I drove to the bridge and my wife was worried that I could hit by a passing car (I didn't).

Equipment

I used a Nikon D3300 with a Sigma 18-35 mm lens handheld but resting on a railing.

Inspiration

I had earlier attempted to capture sunsets and once I saw this sunset beginning, I knew I had to try to get a shot of it.

Editing

I used Corel AfterShot Pro and adjusted the saturation and vibrance to match what I saw with my eyes.

In my camera bag

I still carry my Sigma 18-35 mm lens, my Tamron 28-300 mm lens, my Sigma 150-600 mm lens, my Nikon 40 mm Macro lens, my Nikon 50 mm lens, my Sigma 105 mm Macro lens, my Nikon D780, Sirui tripod with Colorado ballhead, and Godox TT685N speedlight. I gifted my D3300 to my friend's daughter. I still have my D7200 Nikon.

Feedback

Watch the sky right before sunset to see what the clouds look like and how the light is coming in through the clouds.
