The wall has been build around 1814. The stones which were used are in 'iron stone'. It used to be '1 man high' +-- 1.7m, and was build to protect the grapevines against the strong winds coming from the North and against animals. It now still is amost 1.5 km long, and not so high any more. The wall is still protecting more then 70 square decametre of grapvines at this moment.
