Greetings to all. The photo was taken at Rockefeller State Park Preserve in Westchester County, NY. I am an amateur photographer who loves to be outdoors photographing the wonders of the natural world.Time
The photo was taken in the early part of the afternoon on a bright sunny day. In my amazement I came upon this wonderful group of turtles warming up their bodies on a fallen tree branch.Lighting
The lighting had to be bright as I was taking the photos of the turtles from behind some large trees. The trees provided me cover as to not disturb the gathering. The early afternoon provided ample lighting to take the photo. The natural lighting was a tremendous help in acquiring such a unique photo/event.Equipment
I used a Canon Powershot SX720 HS. I like to use this camera as it is light, versatile, has a powerful zoom, and takes wonderful photos under most conditions.Inspiration
The natural world always inspires me to take photos. I like to be outdoors to see gods creations. We all need to remember every so often to stop look, hear, touch, and smell the wonders of the natural world. Seeing all the turtles together was a tremendous surprise, and rare event to see. An event like this does not come a long often in my neck of the world so it was a tremendous opportunity to share it with the Viewbug Community.Editing
There was no post-processing of the photo. Photo is as the event unfolded, and as the turtles gathered. In my camera bag
I usually carry 2 cameras. A Canon Rebel T6. I only use 2 different lenses , with the Rebel T6. I also use the Canon Powershot SX720 HS.Feedback
Head to a spot where you know there will be abundant wildlife to photograph. Be patient as subjects to photograph appear at random moments. Keep the camera ready at all moments. Have fun, and feel inspired about the photos you are creating through your camera. Stay safe, and God bless.
