“A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step.” — Lao Tzu.

I had no idea what to expect of Bulgaria, as I boarded yet another bus for a foreign country. Macedonia had been amazing, so I hoped for the best. The bus ride was long and confusing as is custom around these parts of the world. But it was all worth it. Sofia, has been an amazing city and yet again I ended up staying twice the amount of time I had planned. I decided to take a spontaneous hike up the mountain closest to the city which the hostel was running. It was steep, and ended up being a 17km journey, which I wasn't expecting. What came as even more of a surprise was the amazing scenery which this unassuming country offered.
