The river is actually called the Burn of Sorrows.

Thanks Anita. The photo actually composed itself. Its really the only view you get of the waterfall (when your standing in the middle of the river ;-)

Ha. Not today. I took that photo in August and had to stand up to my thighs in water that was freezing. Right now I'd last about 10 seconds before bits fell off with the cold!!!!

I'm so sorry, but I could not help but notice....Am I the only one that sees the man and womans faces together (side by side) in this photo on the right? Beautiful photo by the way, but my eyes could not help but see the two of them there on the right in the rock? Or of course you can also call me out and say I'm also nuts. Totally okay with that too.

Location
The photo is taken near Castle Campbell at the Burn of Sorrows (Burn being a Scottish word for a river) in Dollar Glen, Dollar, Scotland. The walk through Dollar Glen is fantastic, passing the Burn of Sorrow and the Burn of Care - combined with the fact that the castle used to be called 'Castle Glume', it makes for quite a mysterious experience.Time
The photo was taken in the early afternoon. I had visited the Castle in the morning and then went for a walk to find a decent viewpoint to photograph the Castle. During the walk I saw this wee waterfall so returned to it later on.Lighting
The lighting was changing constantly as there was a fair bit cloud cover blowing through. The small canyon was quite dark to due tree cover and was giving me an exposure time of 30 seconds. I had to wait for about half an hour standing mid thigh in a freezing Scottish Burn to get the light I wantedEquipment
I'm currently using a borrowed Canon 5D mkiii and had it set up on a Manfrotto tripod and a polarising filter. Canon 24-80mm lensInspiration
Waterfalls are always great to photograph but when the sun broke through and lit the vegetation behind the falls and the vegetation on the rock surface it just looked pretty specialEditing
The image was sharpened and some dodging and burning carried out. I'm a novice with Photoshop as I've only been using it for about 10 months so most of my editing is pretty basicIn my camera bag
I don't have a great amount of gear. As I said My Camera is borrowed at the moment. I have 2 lenses a 50mm prime and a 24-80mm. I have a 430EXii speedlight. Manfrotto tripod. a couple of remote releases and 10 stop and polarising filtersFeedback
I had a wee laugh at this question. Best advice I could give, if you're standing in a Scottish river to take a picture of a waterfall then wear waders!!! Even in summer it was blooming freezing.
