Stunning. I love capturing flowers, especially roses. This is beautiful.

Location
This photo was taken in my mother's house. Her favourite rose was always Double Delight and I bought her the plant for her birthday when I stayed with her. This is the first flower from that plant.Time
I don't remember exact time of day but believe it was taken in the afternoon..Lighting
This photo was taken in natural light from the window.Equipment
Simple equipment. My old Olympus camera E-510 hand held.Inspiration
I guess the inspiration for this photo was that it was my mother's favorite rose. And the beauty of it drew me into the centre of the flower to take a close up of it.Editing
This photo was taken in 2014 so I struggle to remember what post processing I did! I believe I sharpened it up a bit but it is quite as it came from the camera. In my camera bag
I have upgraded since this photo was taken to Olympus OMD - M5 mark 2. Love the mirrorless cameras because of the ease of using them and carrying them around. I almost always have with me my Olympus Pro lenses which are 40 - 150mm 1: 2.8 and 12 - 40mm 1: 2.8. I also have macro lens and love using 50mm prime lens from an Olympus film camera that belonged to my father. I rare use a tripod and don't carry one as a ruleFeedback
The best advice I can give is not to be afraid to get up close to your subject, particularly flowers. Their true beauty is very often in the detail. There are a lot of photos of flowers in their entirety and getting close and showing the detail makes it a bit special.
