Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken at Paul D. Rushing Park in Katy, Texas. Katy is a suburb of Houston, Texas which is Harris County. This is a great park and very tranquil with this enormous boardwalk surrounded by man made ponds.

Time

It was late afternoon about 5 p.m., I accidently found this park but the boardwalk caught my eye. I really wasn't out on a picture mission but I guess I just got lucky!

Lighting

It was late in the afternoon and the sun was already to the west of me. I liked the way the shadows looked on this particular boardwalk so I snapped several shots from different angles.

Equipment

I used a Canon SL1 with a kit lens. By no means do I consider my self a photographer, I just took an interest in taking pictures of anything that catches my attention. I've only started taking pictures with a DLSR for 5 months now.

Inspiration

I love nature and am a tradesman and the wood work was done nicely.

Editing

I did enhance the contrast and exposure using Lightroom 5.

In my camera bag

Now I carry my Canon SL1 with my 2 kit lenses 18-55mm, 75-300mm along with my 50mm and 24 mm prime lenses. Just recently I got a great deal on a Nikon D5300 with 2 kit lenses 18-55mm, 55-200mm and a 50mm prime lens as well.
