Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in York Maine at the Butterfly Kingdom, it was taken about 5 years ago when we went on a family vacation up to Maine, Went to the York's Wild Kingdom Zoo.

Time

It was around 2 O'Clock in the afternoon, I was excited about the butterfly Kingdom because I was still learning a lot about photography and knew i would have a great opportunity to show that I could take some good shots of butterflies. I like this one the best because I actually got the face of the butterfly, before this shot I really never got a face this amazing creature.

Lighting

it was a great day and with the sun shinning, I was concerned about it but once I got into the kingdom i noticed that it was a glass roof that was like a frosted glaze on them so that help filter the sun but still giving me the right amount of natural light to get this shot.

Equipment

I used the Nikon D3000 with 300mm lens

Inspiration

I thought it was going to be a great shot and I like taking photos of anything I can especially butterflies because they are very interesting animals and they are kind of difficult to capture if you're not quiet enough to get them on film.

Editing

None

In my camera bag

Nikon D3000, 18-55mm lens, 70-300mm lens, 50mm lens F1.8, Speed flash. Filters

Feedback

The only thing I can say is be patience when take photos of animals of all species, and never give up trying to capture the shot that you are trying to get.
