Location
This photo was actually taken on the parvis of a church in the streets of Lyon (France) ! The model was lying on the steps and I stood up on top of her.Time
We chose to meet early in the morning to avoid harsh lighting (and crowded streets).Lighting
Natural morning light. I'm used to shoot indoors so this shoot was a true challenge !Equipment
Canon Eos 550D and EF-S 18-55 mm f/3,5-5,6) lens. (The only equipment I owned by then...)Inspiration
It was the first time Mejika and I met and we instantly clicked ! The photoshoot was supposed to last an hour but we actually spent the whole morning together - and it would be the first of many to come ! This picture is my favorite from this day.Editing
Lightroom development (RAW)In my camera bag
As I said earlier, I did not have much in term of equipment at that time !Feedback
Portraiture is about emotions, connection, communication... If you get to know the human being behind your model, you will capture more than their image. At first, I prefer meeting for coffee/tea/sparkling water/etc. Both sides will know if they can (or want to) make some great pictures together after a simple chat. Don't overthink, relax and have fun !
