Location
This stand of gorgeous Aspens was along road as a friend and I drove from Durango to Silverton Colorado. Water had been quite plentiful that year and the Aspen's had a touch of red in them.Time
From the picture you can tell it was a delightful day and even at 11 am the light was gorgeous. This was in late Sept.Lighting
The blue sky with 2 shades of blue indicate I was using a circular polarizer.Equipment
Hand held , since I was on my back, Nikon D4 with a Nikon 28-300mm zoom. Meta data says the lens was at 44mm 1/200 sec. at f5.6. ISO 320 and the camera was on manual.Inspiration
The image speaks for itself. John and I spent 1 1/2 hours shooting until the light became too harsh.Editing
Very little post processing. In my camera bag
I usually carry 2 cameras and lenses range from my utility 28-300mm, and the holy trinity of glass: Nikon 17-35 , 28-70mm and 70-200mm all f2.8. Most often on a tripod.Feedback
This stand of trees was probably less than 1/2 of an American Football field in size. We shot for over 90 minutes and from this vantage point I shot probably 25 pictures with different focal lengths, time and f stops. Keep experimenting with the possibilities and get out of P mode. It does not stand for professional.
