Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in my house in South Africa. First time trying out macro photography.

Time

This was taken during midday. Indoors

Lighting

I used a flash light, I did not have the right flashes. So I just improvise with lighting

Equipment

Taken on a Nikon D3100, Taken with my old Nikon 105mm f2.8 and 50mm f1.8 in reverse. This image was shot at F32 and it is a 3 photo stack in photoshop.

Inspiration

Back when this photo was taken I was trying all sorts of photography. And I found the old nikon 105mm macro lens for very very cheap. So had to try out this type of photography

Editing

Yes I did. I did focus stacking in photoshop. First Time I tried doing it and think it came out quite nice.

In my camera bag

This photo was taken with the Nikon D3100 years back. From that camera I got the Nikon D7000. Then I got the D500. And now I currently have the Nikon D810. Lens 24-120mm F4 Lens 200-500mm

Feedback

If you would like to take photos like this, you will need a macro lens and if you want to get in super close then use a 50mm f1.8 lens attached in reverse to the 105mm lens. It is a bit of a hit and miss. But you will need alot of light. If you like macro photography, get the lighting right before it is way different to your everyday photography.
