I have blinded myself. I have chosen not to see things that have been right in front of me. I have done this so that I don't have to deal with the pain of situations. I have done this so that my hurt stays away for a little longer. It's easier to pretend to be happy and that everything is ok. Now I am lost in my own sea of emotions. Blindly trying to swim my way out. I knew that I wouldn't be blinded for ever. Choosing not to acknowledge something is a temporary fix to a permeant problem. I am removing my blindfold and stepping out of the water.

I took this image in at a beach in Norfolk,Va.Time
It was taken a little bit before the golden hour.Lighting
I really wanted a darker mood for this image. The sky was overcast that day, normally I use speed lights, but I couldn't this time.Equipment
I shot this on a Nikon D610, using a 35mm lens.Inspiration
I create a lot of my images based on my emotions. It really is my therapy. I wanted to showcase the feeling of being overwhelmed and "blinded" by the mundane day to day existence that we forget to nourish ourselves, and a lot of times we end up getting hurt and burnt out.Editing
I adjusted my exposure to further get the darker mood. Then I made tonal edits and applied a light matte. In my camera bag
My Nikon d610, my 85mm and 35mm lenses.Feedback
Make sure you don't drop your camera in the water. Many times the waves make it hard to set up a tripod. Joking aside, just be true to yourself and your creative voice. Conceptual art has no boundaries. It has no right or wrong way/idea. Be fearless in what you are creating, and push yourself to create. Most importantly, create for yourself.
